
MIMILI MAKU MERCH
Mimili Maku is a contemporary art centre, deeply rooted in Anangu culture and community. Founded and governed by a dedicated board of Anangu directors, it operates in Mimili Community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands. The centre serves as a space for artistic expression and cultural storytelling by local Mimili artists.
We were engaged by Well Made design studio to produce vibrant merch for Mimili Maku arts centre. The collection includes:

What we did
Production

The oversized tote crafted with durability in mind. From everyday use to desert trekking . Made from a 16oz cotton canvas in emerald, with a 14oz waxed canvas base for additional structure and wear and tear.
The tote includes an external slip pocket, along with a d-ring for extra clippy items and an internal pocket for smaller essential items, along with screen-printed carry straps.

Tatami stitch patches were produced from a variety of designs by Mimilu Maku artists.
The iron on patches make it easy to personalise any of the Mimili Maku merch.

Tjukupra Handle It Bag
A special edition bag designed by artist Robert Fielding. Crafted from durable 12oz cotton canvas, this compact shoulder bag features a phone slip pocket and a secure snap button closure.
The adjustable shoulder strap draws inspiration from Fielding’s signature packing tape. Originally used to mark his artwork for careful handling during shipping, the tape has since become a recurring element in his art and personal belongings.

The Tjapu bag (Tjapu means little one in Yankunytjatjara.)
The small shoulder bag is crafted with a durable 12oz waxed cotton canvas, also featuring an adjustable shoulder strap, slip pocket and a spacious body for all essentials.

Designed for adventure, the Punpunpa Hat is built for the outdoors—whether you're in the bush, the desert, or the city.
A durable, wide-brimmed hat designed for outdoor wear. Made from 10oz cotton twill, it provides sun protection and features a detachable fly veil secured with snap press studs. The chin strap is crafted from turquoise paracord with an adjustable toggle for a secure fit.
