packaging ProDuction coordinator

Reporting to the Production Manager, an exciting opportunity now exists for a self-driven individual to provide proactive production and warehouse management support within our production team.

The key to your success will be your natural ability to exercise initiative and be proactive in your approach to your work. It is essential that you are highly organised and collaborative, with an adaptable work style and versatility of approach to handle changing work requirements.

This is a permanent position and must be available to work from our Abbotsford studio. This position can be flexible for the right candidate, whether a part-time or full-time position is required.

  • • Scheduling of all sampling and production

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and factories

    • Assist with creative preparation of technical product specifications and presentations

    • Liaising with offshore and local manufacturers daily, monitoring current purchase orders, approvals, and deliveries

    • Negotiate costs with suppliers, balancing quality, design, and value to achieve target margin/cost.

    • Liaise with our freight forwarders on quoting, logistical management and import documentation involving both sea and air shipments.

    • Raise PO’s and invoices in Xero

    • Sourcing new products and manufacturers through our sustainability and ethical checklists.

  • • Maintaining and updating where necessary product specification sheets for suppliers to reduce errors in sampling and production.

    • Ensuring that all product is sampled and produced according to the product specification

    • Ensuring the product is produced in a profitable and sustainable manner taking into account wastage, packaging, freight, cost and labour

    • Ensuring the production schedules are functional and efficient for all production departments

    • Maintaining quality assurance of all production and any issue resolution with suppliers, internally and with third party auditors

  • • Ensuring smooth operation of the production and management of all products

    • Ensuring the proper timekeeping/logging and of time against projects.

    • Assisting with the day to day operations of all project enquiries and production

    • Liaise with our freight forwarders on quoting, logistical management and import documentation involving both sea and air shipments

    • Maintaining relationships with resellers (screen printers)

  • • Sourcing supply of products according to quality, price and appeal

    • Raise PO’s and invoices in Xero

    • Negotiating best possible pricing structure and terms of trade with all suppliers

    • Implementing set standards of quality and supply, and communicating these to suppliers

    • Ensure ethical and environmental standards are abided by across our supply chain

  • • Be ethically minded and sustainability focussed.

    • 2 + years' relevant experience working in print or packaging production or product environment required;

    • A strong knowledge of packaging or print manufacturing, or willingness to learn

    • Previous experience with offshore manufacturing within one of our categories is essential (packaging essential, apparel/fabric, glass/ceramics)

    • Effective verbal and written communication, relationships building skills and clear customer focus

    • Ability to think logically, prioritise and multitask.

    ª Strong admin and numeracy skills, Proficiency in Excel

    • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator / Indesign) is desirable (not essential)

    • A strong attention to detail
